Faith of a Child

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I just came across a great post in the “Swerve” blog at lifechurch.tv.

The kids in our children’s ministries are more than just a mission field, they are missionaries. They are not just the church of tomorow… well, you get the idea. Below is an exerpt from that article:

Do you embrace the potential within your Children’s Ministry?  Or do you dismiss their significance based upon age?

Consider this… A child at the age of 6 is just as capable of following Jesus as I am. The bible is just as applicable to a Christ follower at 8 years old as it is to me at 35 years old.

What does that mean?

Going Back to School

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

BooksI’ve decided to further my education. No, I’m not joining Harry Potter at Hogwarts; I’m pursuing a seminary degree. This is something I have wanted to do since I went into full-time ministry about three years ago, but I never had the time and money. (I’m not sure I have the time or money now, either, but I’m going anyway.)

I am in the process of enrolling in Liberty University’s distance learning program. I’ll be pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. My first class starts next month. I’m only taking one class initially, so I can see how well it fits in with my touring schedule. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a little more aggressive with my class load in future semesters. (Either that or I’ll graduate sometime next decade.)

My Visit to the Creaton Museum

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Creation Museum LogoI have been following the ministry of Answers in Genesis for a long time. In case you aren’t familiar with them, they are an organization dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the Gospel. Their primary focus is dealing with questions about the book of Genesis. If you have questions dealing with the creation/evolution debate, or if you aren’t sure why it matters, I’d encourage you to visit their site and learn more.

Last year, they opened their Creation Museum near my hometown. I finally got a chance to visit. It really is impressive. It includes multiple theater experiences, interactive exhibits, life-size animatronic dinosaurs and more.

It deals with much more than just creation. It is about promoting a Biblical worldview. It begins with creation and continues through the Garden of Eden, Noah’s flood, all the way through the cross and redemption. I’d certainly recommend visiting if you have the chance.

I’ve Been Endorsed

Friday, January 4th, 2008

My magic ministry has just been approved and included in the Endorsed Ministry Guide. Over the last month, they have checked references and reviewed my ministry.

The Review Board of the Endorsed Ministry Guide is made up of ministers, event planners, and recognized professionals who have agreed to provide their evaluative comments, recommendations and constructive critiques of ministers and ministry organizations for the purpose of promoting, protecting and preserving quality ministry relationships. These endorsements are only given to those who have completed their extensive application process and maintain their high integrity and quality standards.

If you are looking for a ministry of integrity, you should check out the Endorsed Ministry Guide. While you’re there, you can leave a review of my ministry.
